REPATRIATIONS

We are experienced in the repatriation of mortal remains and Ashes, to and from other parts of South Africa and Africa, and worldwide. We work closely with funeral directors at the other end, as well as with embassy and consular officials, airline and freight agents, and our own government departments: Port Health and the Dept. of International Relations & Cooperation (DIRCO).

We attend to the strict requirements of preparing the deceased for international repatriation: embalming, placing him/her in a sealed metal-lined coffin, which is either enclosed in a wooden crate, or wrapped with hessian and stitched – depending on the requirements of the country of destination.

We obtain the stringent documentation for repatriation – required before the deceased is allowed to be dispatched: Death Certificate, Burial Order, Non-Contagious Disease Letter, Embalming Certificate, Affidavits, Export Permit (Port Health), foreign permission (Consulate), and Customs Clearance.  We also arrange for the Import Permit (DIRCO) and Customs Clearance for incoming human remains.
